Spending time outside for hours on end was the best part of my childhood. I grew up in northern Alberta, surrounded by the Boreal Forest. Having the forest nearly out my back door, inspired my love of trees and nature.
I have always been a creative person who has been drawing as long as I can remember. In high school, I had a fantastic art teacher who let us explore using a variety of media and this is where I encountered oil paint which became my favourite medium. I continued pursuing my love of art and went to art school where I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the NSCAD University in Halifax. I continue to paint in my spare time and I occasionally I exhibit in shows within Edmonton and the surrounding area.
While trying to figure out a career that would combine my creative side and my love of nature and the outdoors, I came across Landscape Architecture. In 2012, I completed my Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Guelph and found work doing large commercial projects within Edmonton. Longing for work that was more creative, that allowed me to work on a more personal level with people, I ended up at Greentree where I have the
privilege of helping people to bring their yard dreams to life.
