For many years I lived on an acreage just outside of Edmonton. Most of my time at home was spent outside riding horses, driving the tractor, or tending vegetable and small perennial gardens. I wanted to continue my outdoor life and inspire others to be surrounded by nature and share with them the enjoyment an outdoor environment can bring.
As a native Albertan, my familiarity was with the Oil and Gas Industry. My history as a piping designer developed my attention to detail and the understanding of spatial 3D concepts. With my eagerness to get back to a natural lifestyle, I searched for a way to find new work that would help others while getting back to the outdoors.
My motivation to create beautiful yards came from volunteering with the Habitat for Humanity. The satisfaction of many attractive landscapes was the reward I cherished from the dedication and hard work it took to install them. My interest to continue understanding residential landscapes brought me to discover the Landscape Architectural Technology program at NAIT.
During the summer after my first year in the LAT program at NAIT, my position as a Landscape Inspector for the City of Edmonton gave me a chance to see many ideas of different residential and small commercial landscape designs. This inspired me to pursue a position where I can dedicate my future to residential landscape design and to bring my outdoor designing passion to you.
